Delete your account & data
Tend is local-first: your habits, mood, journal, and session history primarily live on your device. If you use cloud features, we may hold your optional cloud account, end-to-end encrypted cloud sync ciphertext, and small Cloud AI usage/consent records. This page explains how to delete them.
How to delete your account
Prefer email? Email support@tend.fit from the address on your Tend account, with the subject "Delete my Tend account." We will verify the request and delete your account.
What gets deleted
- Your cloud account - the email address, display name, and user identifier held by our authentication provider.
- Your AI consent snapshot - the current cloud record tied to that account for Cloud AI consent. This holds no prompt or reply content.
- Your cloud sync data - if you had Tend Pro cloud sync enabled, the end-to-end encrypted copy of your app data stored on our servers is deleted.
What is kept (and how to remove it)
- Your on-device data (habits, routines, mood, journal, sessions) is never stored on our servers - it stays on your phone. To remove it, use the in-app delete options or simply uninstall the app, which deletes it from your device.
- We do not store the content you send to Cloud AI coaching or its replies - only token counts and the current AI consent snapshot noted above.
- A minimal deletion record (your account identifier only) may be retained for a limited period after deletion for security and abuse-prevention accounting.
- Usage counters may be retained as minimal abuse-prevention and cost-cap accounting records. They contain no prompt or reply content.
Timing
After a verified deletion request, we delete or de-identify account records, active cloud sync ciphertext, and current AI consent snapshots within the period required by applicable law and platform policy. Backup copies and logs are overwritten or deleted on normal retention cycles unless earlier action is legally required.
